ThirdSunday has completed a much needed and unique social initiative on 22/05/2022 in rural areas of Kalyan and Bhiwandi.

With the initiative of Vidyashala organization, we are helping to set up free educational classes upto 8th Standard for children of Brick Kiln worker at various locations i.e. Ovali, Anjur, Varlipada and Shreeram Nagar.

On the event day, Third Sunday team visited the subject Brick Kiln locations along with Teachers of Vidyashala Organization. During the interaction with children, we observed that children's at various locations came along with their parents and they too got involved in the occupation of menials in the brick kilns which results in the drop out of school.

Poverty is not always the major cause for the high drop-out of children from schools, who are working in brick kilns. The main reason is that they don't get an environment to study and it results in the lack of interest in studies.

As on date, approx 160 children are currently registered with their name at the Vidya Shala Organization and willingly attending the classes on a regular basis. Tentatively, Classes are scheduled to start from September, 2022.

As per the requirement of Vidyashala Orgnization, Team Third Sunday has donated following items.

• 150 Slates
• 150 slate pencil box
• 100 Pen
• 216 note books
• 15 mats (6'x6')
• 150 compas box
• 150 water bottle
• 132 school bags
• 5 white board (dual) with stands
• 10 white board with marker
• Goods worth ₹40000 were donated by Team Third Sunday

We can proudly say that this initiative will not only impart book knowledge to those children but it will also create an awareness related to non-consumption of any toxic elements, de-addiction and prevention of child marriage.

We are really thankful to all the volunteers and well-wishers for their efforts, contributions and dedication towards betterment and development of the underprivileged.
